The competition – which recognises those in the industry who are inspiring the next generation of professional decorators – has now opened for this year’s entries. The painting tools manufacturer’s 2023 competition launch follows huge success over the last two years.
Purdy understands that workmanship and quality tools work hand in hand to deliver the best results. Professional decorators require a unique set of skills and high level of craftsmanship in order to deliver the quality, stand out finishes that customers demand.
Purdy aims to underpin these values through its Mentor of the Year competition, which gives those learning the trade the chance to recognise the people that are having a positive influence on them and their learning, whether they run their own business, manage or train decorators in a larger firm or lecture at a decorating college.
From the entries, a college lecturer and a professional painter and decorator will be selected as winners – and will receive £1,000 each, while those that nominate them will each win a new Purdy backpack filled with Purdy products. The two runners up will receive £500 each, with a range of Purdy products for their nominators.
Those who would like to make a nomination should visit: https://www.purdy.co.uk/the-purdy-difference/mentor-of-the-year/, provide the name and details of the nominee and tell Purdy what makes them such a good mentor, why they are inspiring and what they have helped the person to achieve.
The shortlisted nominees will then be invited to a virtual interview, where they can explain more about the skills that they are instilling in the next generation of professional painters and decorators.
“We are very excited to have launched this year’s Mentor of the Year competition following great success over the last two years. It’s such a great opportunity for the next generation of professional decorators to recognise those who are inspiring them to be the very best” commented Rob Davies at Purdy.
Deadline for entries is 30th September 2023.
